What MakesUs Human
A woman in a long robe stands among dark branches covered in pink azalea blossoms.

The Awakening of Identity I

I drew this illustration based on my grandmother. When I think of her, the image that comes to mind is a vibrant pink azalea. Of all colors, she loved bright flower pink the most, so I made pink the main color of this piece. Like a rhododendron, my grandmother had strong, sturdy branches, yet she was also endlessly radiant and beautiful. That is why I wanted to portray her as an azalea.
